Health Department Executives are uneasy over newly released reports that indicate an increase in the volume of STD infections currently being reported. While the increase may not seem to be worrying to some, any escalation in the number of recorded instances can be combined with an increase in unreported transmissions.
While a central problem used to be a lack of readily available STD testing, that is no longer the case with the escalating number of ways that individuals can obtain STD testing in Las Vegas. Both the state and community health departments have tried to make cost-effective testing available to people of all income levels, and private testing providers have also been a good source for confidential STD testing services.
“Presently there seems to be a presupposition that if you are not exhibiting any signs and symptoms, then you are not infected.” said one community official. “However, any doctor will advise you that a majority of STDs show virtually no symptoms, even though the chance of spreading is just the same.” The only way to slow down this rapid growth is for all at risk people to access regular STD testing for all major infections.
If you think you are at risk, or simply just don’t know, the preferred measure is to contact your local health department or explore online for “STD testing services” in order to locate a local medical laboratory that can evaluate your level of risk.
